Teacher faces charges for impregnating young student

When your child goes to school, you want him or her to be protected. You expect the staff to be kind and courteous, and you think of the school as a safe place. If you find out your child has been hurt or abused, you have every right to file a claim against the district and person responsible. Criminal charges are often already in the works.

On Sept. 23rd, it was reported that a Florida Middle School teacher has been charged for having a relationship with a student that resulted in sexual activity. He is accused of getting the girl, who is reportedly under the age of 16, pregnant.

The Palmetto police chief has reported that the 31-year old teacher has been charged with lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under the age of 16. He also faces charges for child abuse due to impregnating a child who is under the age of 16.

It's been reported that the teacher was working at Lincoln Middle School as a Graduation enhancement technician. He was arrested following a police report, though police did not indicate how they heard about the incident. Officials have reported that he claimed he met the girl at school but that the crime was committed off campus, suggesting that she may have been one of his students.

The man was immediately removed from his position at the school, and he is no longer allowed to contact students. Since his arrest, the man has resigned and agreed not to seek employment within the district. The district intends to seek termination proceedings against the teacher.
