Teacher arrested for allegedly sleeping with 15-year-old teen

If you're accused of sexual harassment or misconduct at school, you could be looking at losing your teaching job. It's important that you seek legal help to defend yourself; career-related consequences are not uncommon in these kinds of situations, but you shouldn't be blamed for something you didn't do.

You might have heard about this story; a teacher in Ocala has been arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old teen. According to the news, the teen and the teacher were allegedly married, although it would not be legal in Florida, because even with parental consent, you must be 16 to obtain a license. According to reports, the girl's parents reported that the man had taken her to a hotel in Daytona Beach on the weekend of Jan. 11, and they reportedly had sex multiple times on different occasions.

A neighbor claimed that the man had taken the girl back to his apartment on a number of occasions. Police have reported that the 15-year-old was a student at the school where the teacher was a coach. Now, the principal at the school has reported that the man is in the process of being terminated from his position. The man was placed in the Marion County Jail and is being held on a bond of $176,000 at the time being.

In cases where a person is accused of misconduct, it's important to make sure the facts are right. Taking disciplinary actions before a person is found guilty could be seen as wrongful termination, and you have a right to have your side of the story heard before you're left fighting for your job.
